Recruiting Event!! - Saturday,
September 6th at the Green YMCA, 10am till 2pm
To keep this Nation strong we need everyone to help. Come out and show those who come by how much
fun we have, talk to them about what you have gotten from the quality time you
have spent with your son(s), tell them about the fellowship between the
families at our family events, and tell them about our upcoming events.

September
Event – Fall Camp-out
Camp Fitch, September 26th – 28th
Cost is $125.00 for a father and son, plus $15.00 for each
additional son.
Note that the actual cost
for camping at Fitch is $145.00 for father and son and $35.00 for each
additional son, but because we have worked hard to raise money the Nation is paying
the $20.00 difference to help bring more campers out for the event!

Nation
Chief: Kurt “Big Bear” Leibensperger 330-699-4734,

Hard to
believe but a year has almost passed since Andrew and I put on the Nation Chief
feathers. The end of this month is our campout, and we will pass the
baton on to John, Sam and Jacob Waller as your new nation chief. I'd
like to thank all the chiefs and council members from this past year for all
their efforts. We did a number of new, fun events this year, and
your efforts were appreciated by everyone who attended these events. I'd
also like to thank last year's Chief, Scott Summers for his guidance and advice
this year.
But,
before I go...there are a few things I urge everyone to
support. First off is our Fall Campout, once again on the shores of
Lake Erie at Camp Fitch. If you've never been, Camp Fitch is
probably one of the greatest camps in the entire YMCA system. Its
right overlooking Lake Erie and the site is beautiful, and there are plenty of
fun activities for you and your sons to participate in. This year, the
nation is picking up a significant part of the cost to attend, so campout
prices will be better than they have been in a long time. Hope to
see everyone there!
Also, we
will once again be doing our recruiting event on Saturday, September 6th at the
Green YMCA. New blood is essential to our nation, and we can only
continue to grow with new members. The
nation has spent money to pass out flyers at all area schools, and to advertise
this event. Now all we need is YOU! Come out Saturday morning
to set up, talk to prospective members, or tear down. We will be grilling
hot dogs, playing games and more! Hope to see you there!
War Chief: John “Sits By Fire” Waller 330-867-5726,
330-256-4430 john.waller@wilsontool.com
Our 2nd
Annual Recruiting Event @ Green YMCA is happening Saturday, September 6th. We
had great success last year welcoming in several new fathers and sons because
we had a great turnout of existing Manikiki Nation Big and Little Braves from
nearly all Tribes on hand to help make it happen.
Nation
leadership is advertising it and passing out flyers to all surrounding K-2nd
Grade classes so let’s make sure we do it again this year. If you are a member
of a tribe that is losing outgoing braves soon, this is a great opportunity to
bolster your membership, continue to grow and remain an active Tribe. We’ll
have hot dogs, snacks, corn hole and friendly hospitality for potential new
members, so be a part of the action and have some fun at the same time.
Also,
don’t forget good ol’ word of mouth. Invite a friend, neighbor, son’s friend,
co-worker, family member, etc. to come to an event and check us out. I wouldn’t
be surprised if they see what you and your son sees.
Thanks in
advance for your efforts to keep our Nation strong!

Chiefs we
need to get a body count to Jim Livers/Camp Fitch prior to the next longhouse.
They need the count for staffing our weekend and more importantly to arrange
for enough food to feed us…unless the Crow tribe is going to cook all weekend.

There once was a great Nation called
the Manikiki! The braves of this Nation
were so strong and giving that they all showed up to help recruit new braves on
September 6, 2008. It was a good year
for the great Manikiki Nation!!

The weather
was cool but those that attended had a great time at Clay’s park. Thanks
to Jeff Reale and the rest of the Navajo for putting the day together. I
believe everyone is back in school and the grind begins. The flyers going
to the schools are a great idea and I think we’ll really benefit. Recruitment
is really important especially at the young age. Please give some effort
to keep our nation strong. Look forward to the fall campout as
usual. This will most likely be our last.

Tonka Hey
Mighty Manikiki Nation! Wow, I realize
another summer has flown by as the boys return to school. It makes me glad that we have Indian Guides
to add a few more moments together with our sons. With that said, let's get ready for the fall campout at Camp Fitch
and add a couple of more memories to the end of summer. The best photo or short video forwarded to me
for the upcoming campout will go on the front page of the website. So look out for moments that epitomize Indian
Guides for you and your sons. I look
forward to seeing those shots!

$140 to cover both sons. Happy 10th birthday to Dominic “Moon Wolf” Poletta!

Hope
everyone had a great summer and is now ready for school. Just to let
everyone know we (Maxim Family) have moved from North Canton to Jackson.
I grew up a Polar Bear and now my kids will be one as well. We are
excited for this upcoming year of Indian Guides and have some great events
planned again for everyone. The fall camp out is the big one in September
28th and 29th. Also, the nation has a recruiting day for Indian
guides on Sept 6th. Last year we got a new tribe member Mark and Shawn
Fowler from this event. We look forward
to a great turn out at the recruiting event.

hayrides and this Saturday. We are hosting a recruiting event at the Y starting
at 10 am to help attract new members. So come and help out because the mighty
Mandan could use some new braves.

stepping up for making our monthly event for all those that attended. We look forward to growing our tribe and the
