I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to spend time with family and friends. It’s amazing how fast the time we get to spend with loved ones goes by. And now with Thanksgiving behind us here comes Christmas and it will be here quick!
A reminder about service projects, although we call it the December service project, it’s a service project done anytime during the year, so pick something that benefits your community or just an individual and let’s teach our boys the importance of helping not only our family and friends but people who are struggling to get by in these tough times.
I think skating was fun, but harder to do at this age then when I was a boy skating on Nesmith Lake. Looking forward to hearing from the nation about the event.
Our yearly fundraiser has been set for March 6, 2010 at Guy’s Party Center, more details will follow but for now mark that date on your calendar and keep working on donated items for the silent auction.
Hope to see you all at the Father Son Banquet!!

Tonka Hey!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. The skating event over the weekend was fun. I did get a lap in without any injury. Looks like we had a solid turnout. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Father/Son Banquet this weekend. The Apache will be performing our December service project following the Banquet by buying holiday groceries for a couple families in dire need in the Akron area. The boys make most of the food choices and throw in a few bucks of their own. I hope you enjoy the Christmas Holiday Season with your families, tribes and sons.

Our Nation currently stands strong at 207 braves; 90 fathers and 117 sons. We had 19 outgoing braves this year, and need to work hard at recruiting new braves so our Nation remains strong and our tribes full. Chiefs, please work on getting your roster filled out and the info to me so our records are complete.
Attendance at the Punt Pass & Kick event was 112 big and little braves. That is just 54% of the Nation. 10 of the 11 Tribes in our Nation were represented, but no Tribe had 100% attendance. I’m sure we can do better at the skating event this month. Don’t forget to sign in at the rink when you get there.
I am compiling the final attendance statistics for the 2008-2009 year. Thank you to the chiefs for confirming and fixing my records. I will have it wrapped up by mid-November in time to order awards for the banquet.

Hello Apache,
Although almost all of you have confirmed you and your son's will be
attending the Father Son Banquet, I have not received any responses for the
dues of $47.00 (for father and one son, $10.00 per each additional son)
other than John Waller paid. (Thanks John)
If you are attending the banquet this Sunday (and haven’t already you
need to confirm to me at kcaldwell004@hotmail.com and that you will pay the
dues (unless you are a YMCA member) by check made out to Kevin Caldwell by
tomorrow. I will write one check to the Nation for our tribe total at the
banquet.
The Roster shows the following as Non Y-members that need to pay
Dues:
Campbell
Matheos
Herbert
Williams
Woods
If I missed anyone please let me know.
*Friendly Reminder* -Don't forget our service project to sponsor a family in
need for a holiday dinner. We will head over to Giant Eagle immediately
after the banquet. In the past Dads usually chipped in $20.00 and a few
bucks from the sons, whatever you can do will work.
We show braves with perfect attendance as: Sammy Waller, Jacob Waller and
Nick Matheos. Please let me know if we are missing any braves with perfect
attendance for the past year.
Thanks,

Tonka Hey everyone! I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to enjoy some time with your family and friends. I am thankful that I got myself and my sons involved in the Indian Guides and that such an organization exists. I've met a lot of great
people since we became members and continue making memories that will last a
lifetime with my boys. Memories that would not be there if not for the
Guides.
In December Tom Knoebel will be celebrating his birthday. Happy Birthday
Tom! Tucker Pearce and Adam Schlosser also get a big Happy Birthday in
December from the Comanche Tribe.
Ice skating was a big hit! We all had a great time and really enjoyed doing
something new with the boys. I think that is an event to do again for sure,
maybe in July next time!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Father Son Banquet, as well as
everyone who makes it out for the Polar Jump at Dano's next weekend. Let's
keep those donations coming in, we have not met our goal yet!
Creek: Scott “ Star Warrior” Veney

I was ready for the Ice Skating Extravaganza but an injury to my little brave saved me the embarrassment of a likely injury to myself. We’re sorry that we missed the event. I’d like to extend birthday wishes to Riley Damm (Nov), Dan Red Hawk Borne (Dec) & Jake Burning Buckeye Veney (Dec). The Creek tribe will be well represented at the banquet and I look forward to seeing nearly the entire tribe together. Good luck to all of the polar bears! You may need some of Dano’s firewater to recover.
Thanks,
Scott Star Warrior Veney
