2000 - 2001
The Nation budget for 00 -01 was $11,100.00. The Nation officers for this year were installed at the Fall Campout Fire Ceremony at Camp Y-Noah.
The first event for this year was the Ghoul Walk held at Camp Y-Noah. This event is the first attended event for all new big and little braves. The November event was Akron U. football. This was a family event. The December event was our annual Father/Son Banquet held at Guy’s Party Center. December also is our month for our Christmas Project, which was participated by all tribes. Thank you.
January’s event saw us at Akron U for a great basketball game. This event was a family event and well attended. February saw us at Guy’s Party Center for our fundraiser, which was a reverse raffle. We raised all monies necessary for the budget along with the help of those tribes who elected to gather their share of the budget in other ways. February also saw us at Midway Lanes for bowling. This was a free event. The March event was our Swim Latenighter held at the Canal Park YMCA and another free event. April took us to Fascar racing . May was our Spring Campout at Camp Fitch. In June we attended Akron Aeros baseball which was a family event. In July we had our family picnic at Kim Tam Lake Park. August’s event was a family event Demolition Derby at the Randolph Fair The event year ended in September with the Organizational Drive and our Fall Campout. The Campout was held at Mohican Campgrounds. Also in September was our 8th annual Manikiki Golf Outing for the fathers.
Our Nation strength at this year’s start was 118 Little Braves and 102 Big Braves for a total of 220.
Joe Friday Awards were given to Darren Koplen, Paul Giesel. were the Outstanding Service Award winners.The Comanche tribe won the Big Medicine Award.
