1989 - 1990
The Nation budget for 1990 was $6,675. The Nation attended a Canton Invaders soccer game for the
2nd year in January. In March we reinstated the overnighter at the Canal Place YMCA. The Spring
Campout was held at Camp Y-Noah and we had rain all weekend. Phil First became chairman of the
52nd National Indian Guides Convention to be held in Akron, Ohio in April 1991. The Nation
bought 8 new poles for the teepee. We changed the constitution so the Nation officer’s term would
run from October to September to coincide with our Nation’s year. The Fall Campout went back to
Camp Tippecanoe this year. The Big Medicine Award went to the Seneca. The Outstanding Service
Award went to Mike Downey, Rob Dumke, Greg Rogers and Larry Wagner. The Joe Friday Award went to
Bob Bernat, Don Suboticki, John P. Markwood III, Keith Gwyn and Pete Schantz. Nation strength was
254 Little and Big Braves. Dues for 1989 – 1990 were $34 for father and son; $9 for an
additional son and free for 3rd and above sons.
