1985 - 1986

The Budget for the event year was $3,655. The January Event was a Cleveland Force soccer game which was very well attended. The Candy supplier was changed from Tri-C Distributors to the American Athlete. Gross Candy sales were $11,958 with a net income to the Nation of $5,585. The Spring Campout was held at Camp Y-Noah for the second year. The campout sponsors introduced a competitive event for Big Braves - the egg drop event. Each Big Brave was given an egg, which he had to package in a container less than one cubic foot. Each package was dropped from an increasing heights and the last person's package whose package prevented the egg from breaking won the event. Because of the lack of drop height and large volume for the package, there were several winners. Rules to be revised for next year. Nation strength was 239 Big and Little Braves. The painting of the Nation teepee was completed and dedication ceremonies were held at the Spring Campout campfire. The Arapaho won the Big Medicine Award. Dan Stober of the Arapaho won the Outstanding Service Award. Dan held all of the offices of the Nation council. He revived the Manikiki Nation Handbook and brought in two new tribes in his organization drive – Kiowa and Navajo. Dan created the Stork Award as a symbol of appreciation for the tribal organizers. He epitomized the Indian Guild philosophy. He will be missed. Dues for 1985 – 1986 were $29 for father and son; $7 for an additional son; free for 3rd and above sons.
