1982 - 1983
Nation budget was $4,055. The gross sales for the candy sale were $13,031, which provided the
Nation with an income of $4,627. Top candy seller was Mark Olson with $1,061. Spring Campout held
at the FFE Camp Muskingum. The Seneca won the Volleyball Tournament. The Nation donated $100 to
the Oglala Sioux in South Dakota. The Organization Drive was voted to become a nation event with
the 3 sponsoring tribes receiving Big Medicine points. The Nation Council approved a
Constitutional Amendment extending the age of outgoing Little Braves from 10 to 12 years old.
The 100% Participation Award rules were revised to allow one miss of a nation Event and the award
was renamed – “Participation Award”. The Organization Drive was successful registering 38 new
families and forming new tribes. The Nation Event schedule was revised moving the Swim Event from
January to March for better weather and January was made a no event month. The Volleyball
Tournament was dropped because of poor attendance. The Family Picnic/Olympics was moved from May
to June and the Spring Campout was moved from April to May for better weather. The April and
August events were to be selected by the sponsoring tribe. We gained 93 new members and had a
total of 257 members on our roster.
